Flux Escrow holds and releases funds — we do not directly handle the exchange of goods or services. This policy covers how escrow fees and escrowed funds are refunded in different scenarios.
The escrow fee is non-refundable once a transaction is marked as completed. This reflects the cost of the escrow service provided, including security, compliance, and platform operations.
If a transaction is cancelled before the buyer deposits funds, no escrow fee is charged and no payment is processed.
If a transaction is cancelled after funding but before completion, the escrow fee may be partially or fully refunded at Flux Escrow's discretion, depending on the circumstances of cancellation and any resources already expended.
If a transaction is mutually cancelled by both parties, the escrowed funds are returned to the buyer's Flux wallet in full, minus any applicable payment processor fees that cannot be recovered from the network (typically 0–3% depending on the payment method used at deposit).
Funds are returned to the same payment method used for the original deposit where technically feasible. For cryptocurrency deposits, funds are returned in the equivalent USD value at the time of cancellation unless the original crypto wallet address is provided.
When Flux Escrow resolves a dispute in favour of the buyer, the escrowed funds are returned to the buyer's wallet. The escrow fee is not refunded in this case.
When a dispute is resolved in favour of the seller, the full escrowed amount is released to the seller's wallet.
In a split decision, funds are divided between the parties in the proportion determined by our dispute team. Each party's share is credited to their respective Flux wallet.
Approved refunds and fund returns are processed within 1–5 business days to your Flux wallet. Withdrawal of those funds to an external account follows standard withdrawal timeframes:
Third-party payment processors (card networks, crypto networks, mobile money operators) may retain their own transaction fees. These are not controlled by Flux Escrow and cannot be recovered or refunded by us. Where applicable, this amount is disclosed at the time of deposit.
